Medical Animations

I created these two medical animations using Adobe Illustrator and After Effects, for a lawyer in Greensboro, North Carolina. One is about sleep apnea and the other is an endoscopy procedure.

Medical Illustration in motion

Creating 2D vectors in illustrator and then animating them would be the simplest way for the lawyer to present to a jury without confusion and clarity. Both have no sound to keep the jury's focus on the video as the lawyer explained what they are seeing.

Sleep apnea

Sleep apnea is a potentially serious sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts.

  • Obstructive sleep apnea, the more common form that occurs when throat muscles relax
  • Central sleep apnea, which occurs when your brain doesn't send proper signals to the muscles that control breathing
  • Complex sleep apnea syndrome, also known as treatment-emergent central sleep apnea, which occurs when someone has both obstructive sleep apnea and central sleep apnea

Endoscopy procedure

An upper endoscopy is a procedure used to visually examine your upper digestive system with a tiny camera on the end of a long, flexible tube. A specialist in diseases of the digestive system (gastroenterologist) uses an endoscopy to diagnose and, sometimes, treat conditions that affect the esophagus, stomach and beginning of the small intestine (duodenum).
